  48. Welcome to the world of IRA-Master !! This very simple to use, yet very useful
  49. program is about to introduce you to what many Financial Wizards have termed,
  50. "The Eighth Wonder of the World".

  52. NO, the wonder is not this software, but rather the financial principle known
  53. as "Compound Interest". It is this wonder, which, at say a 20% per year
  54. Interest Rate, allows you to turn an $ 80,000 dollar investment into a
  55. fortune of $ 31,000,000 !!!! That is correct - Thirty-one MILLION Dollars.

  57. One of my purposes in writing this program is to display to you in black
  58. and white (or in Living Color on a Color Monitor and/or Printer) the magic
  59. of this principle. It will allow you to very simply experiment with
  60. different Yearly Investment Amounts, Interest Rates, and Terms. The Screen
  61. Display shows only the end result. However, you have the option to Print
  62. a report outlining by YEAR both the actual CASH investment as well as the
  63. accumulated TOTAL RETURN for the number of years that you selected.
  64.  
  65. I Guarantee that you will find the figures to be a real Eye-Opener !!!!
  66.  
  67. On the Practical and Useful side, I really urge you to do something that I
  68. failed to do when I was in my early twenties because I was ignorant of the
  69. facts. I encourage you as STRONGLY as I possibly can to begin putting the
  70. $ 2,000 per year that the IRS currently allows into an IRA Account. Start
  71. NOW, whatever your age, but if you can start when you are 20, so much the
  72. better. If you have to SACRIFICE to come up with the $ 2,000, PLEASE DO SO!
  73. $ 2,000 invested at 20 years of age, at 20 per cent per year Interest,
  74. compounded monthly, equals over THIRTY MILLION DOLLARS return at age 60.

  76. Print out a chart using the default value for yearly investment of $ 2,000,
  77. starting at age 20, at 20 per cent per year Interest. The program compounds
  78. the Interest monthly. 20% compounded monthly MAY be rather a high rate of
  79. return, but it really emphasizes my point. Your eyes will POP out of your
  80. head when you note that in the last year of the chart (59 -> 60), your
  81. account increased by almost SIX MILLION DOLLARS !!! Now you know how it is
  82. that the super rich become EVEN richer (or how they CAME to be super rich
  83. in the first place).

  85. There really are NO operating instructions. The default yearly investment
  86. is set at $ 2,000. This can be changed to whatever value you wish. NOTE,
  87. however, that the amount returns to the default next time the program is
  88. reloaded. You can also specify the Yearly Interest that you wish to apply,
  89. as well as the Starting Age to open the account. The Screen Display only
  90. shows the Final Account Value. Select the Print [P] option to see a
  91. year-by-year printout. The [N] entry will restart to allow a new
  92. computation, while [E] will exit back to DOS. One last note -- If you
  93. set the yearly investment value initially to ZERO, you will get a 
  94. computation of Intrest ONLY on the first year investment, without adding
  95. in any further investment amounts.
